In the unlikely event of an engine shutdown, the inertia of the rotor is equal to the time that a pilot has to start the autorotation maneuver, with strong winds and turbulence high inertia rotor behaves much better than a low inertia rotor.
The Cabri G2 has a fully articulated main rotor, where Negative Gs (produced by the pilot or by turbulence) are not a problem. In the semi-articulated rotors (most of training helicopters) you can have a “Mast Bump” the main rotor hub impacts with the rotor mast, this will happen if one of the two rotor blades stalls while the other continues lifting.
The Fenestron¸ will save your life in case of putting the tail in a bush or a tree because the blades are protected. Fenestron also reduces the noise of the helicopter; this is especially interesting when flying near populated areas. Likewise it is also a security feature for people who are on the ground near the tail compared with a conventional tail rotor.
Each Cabri G2 seat carries a piston to absorb impacts in the event of a hard landing, this coupled with the skies, specially designed and conducted impact tests with dummies, make the Cabri G2 one of the safest Helicopters.
Autorotation maneuvers is one of the most practiced maneuver during training and is where most accidents happen. The inertia of the main rotor is the key, most training helicopters have a two bladed low inertia rotor while the Cabri G2 has a high inertia three bladed rotor. Many low speed autorotations practices, with helicopters with two-bladed rotors (low inertia) accidents, end up with a cut off tail boom.
With Cabri G2 autorrotations are a safe and easy maneuver to perform.
In many accidents where a roll over happened the pilot was injured when the helicopter rolled sideways, with these belts the pilot is fully protected.
Pilots higher than 1.85 cm are very uncomfortable in usual helicopters used for training, the Cabri G2 has a very large cabin interior with adjustable pedals on travel and a very high cabin to accommodate taller people.
Cabri G2 is designed with parameters similar to those used in cars today. In the remaining helicopters school this still sounds like science fiction.

The usual train helicopters have only warning low revs, this helicopter has both and differ with different tones as in most of the larger turbine helicopters.
Engine stops have occurred by icing engine carburetors because some pilots when they begin the descent forget to apply the carburetor heating, in this helicopter can’t happen because is automatically controlled by his own avionics.
Some fires have been caused by the exhaust of the helicopters landing in a field of grass. With Cabri G2 this can’t happen because he has the exhaust pipe looking up.
More power available (180 hp emergency and continuous 160 hp) and an increased maximum takeoff weight (700 kg) get extra safety in all flight maneuvers.
The cruising speed is around 100 knts , taking a great margin over the Vne , it converts into a sturdy helicopter, capable of flying at high altitude and in a turbulence areas maintaining a safety flight in all moment.
The fuel tank is equipped with fuel bladder (impact-resistant inner bag) as those used by Formula 1 cars. Many accidents fuel is poured and it can be turned on by touching hot parts of the engine. With the fuel bladder this possibility is almost nonexistent.
It has autonomy of up to 5 hours and 40 minutes (typical training helicopters have 3h of range). Furthermore avionics of Cabri´s displays remaining flight time depending on the power used. There have been many cases of engine stops running out of fuel.
